Overview

Welcome to SSA Douglasville Soccer - Providing Soccer Programs for Douglas County Boys and Girls since 1982.

Southern Soccer Academy Douglasville, a not-for-profit soccer club in existence since 1982, offers a variety of programs for boys and girls ages 3 - 19:

Academy Program: The SSA Academy Program is for players looking for a high-quality training and playing environment under the supervision of experienced and qualified staff where an enthusiasm for, and a commitment to, the game is nurtured and rewarded.

Select Program: The SSA Select Program represents the highest level of competitive club soccer within the state of GA. The program is coached by experienced and qualified coaches and is the primary program for our highest level players.

For more information on the Academy and Select programs, please click on 'SSA Elite' on the menu bar.

Recreational Program: SSA Douglasville's Recreational Program is a developmental soccer program that provides an opportunity for both boys and girls from under 4 (U4) through under 19 (U19) years old to play soccer, regardless of ability and experience – there are no tryouts. Although healthy competition is a natural part of any sport, the primary focus of this program is on player development. Southern Soccer Academy provides players of all ages a fun, purposeful, and challenging environment for each player to have the opportunity to reach their fullest potential.

Locations:

Practices and games are at Chestnut Log and Fowler Field Soccer Complexes.

Player Development

Fun with a purpose is a simple way to look at SSA recreational soccer. If it's not "fun," players will not want to play, but it has to be purposeful in order to develop players to their fullest potential. At Southern Soccer Academy, players are immersed in an environment that promotes their development of three key areas:

1) Soccer-specific skills - development of physical, technical, psychological, and tactical components of soccer
2) Life Skills and Core Values – learn to interact with other children and peers, solve problems, make decisions, demonstrate respect, responsibility, integrity, sportsmanship, and leadership

3) Health and Fitness – be active in a safe and fun soccer environment
